Trees for Cities

Trees for Cities inspires people to plant and love trees in cities worldwide.

Trees For Cities

The only urban tree planting charity to operate on a national scale, we use a successful partnership model, which blends local grassroots delivery with a strategic evidence-based approach.

We work with landowners, partner organisations and community groups to create innovative urban tree planting projects in over 20 UK cities.

Since our inception we have engaged 75,000 people to plant more than 750,000 urban trees in parks, streets, schools, hospitals and housing estates. Our impact means greener, healthier and happier cities for future generations.

Description of award focus in 2018:

This Special Award from the Postcode Green Trust, funded by players of the People’s Postcode Lottery, is an exciting opportunity for Trees for Cities to grow and diversify our work, allowing us to engage more people to plant more trees in more cities than ever before. We will develop our strategies for identifying where we will have the most impact, and build on our partnerships so we can be sure that more people across the UK can live in greener, healthier and happier communities.

2018 marks the first year of the award, during which we’ll focus on expanding our tree planting programme into new cities and towns, plan to roll out our newly piloted cluster approach and strategic partnerships, and develop a robust impact framework.
