How is the Trust funded?

Postcode Green Trust operates its own society lottery and is entirely funded by the players of People’s Postcode Lottery. As more players join People's Postcode Lottery, more funds are distributed to Postcode Green Trust and made available for the Trust to award to good causes. How is the Trust regulated?

Postcode Green Trust is a charity registered in Scotland (SC042544) and is a company limited by guarantee (404041). Postcode Green Trust operates its own society lottery and is regulated by the Gambling Commission under certificate 000-030268-R-311787 and 000-030268-N-311788.

How do I apply for funding from the Trust?

Postcode Green Trust is unable to consider unsolicited applications as it operates on a closed application basis. Postcode Green Trust is proactive in approaching charities and, as funds become available, will thoroughly research and select potential beneficiaries.

Does the Trust fund overseas projects?

Postcode Green Trust funds projects where our lottery players live. For this reason, the Trust only funds projects based in England, Scotland and Wales.

Which charities and good causes has the Trust funded?

Since Postcode Green Trust was established in 2011, it has provided funding to and supported the following charities: Canal & River Trust, Foundation Scotland, Friends of the Earth Scotland, Friends of the Earth UK, Northumberland Wildlife Trust, Plantlife, Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts, Scottish Wildlife Trust, Sea Shepherd, The Royal Parks Foundation, Wildlife Trusts Wales, Woodland Trust, WWF, Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust and Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. All decisions regarding funding are made by Postcode Green Trust’s Trustees.

I have been awarded a grant - what next?

If you have been lucky enough to receive funding from Postcode Green Trust, you will be expected to provide twice-yearly progress reports and work with our Communications team to publicise our relationship. For more information, contact: info@postcodegreentrust.org.uk.
